To install the spacer, it is necessary to slightly raise the front of the machine with a jack, loosen the central nut and tighten the spring with ties. After that, dismantle the rack and knock out the regular bolts of its fastening. Then press in new longer bolts and install the spacer. As a result, the clearance of Renault Logan will rise by 25 mm. The rear part is raised in a similar way, but a rubber spacer is used. Of course, before inserting these parts, they must be correctly selected. There are many spacers on the market in different sizes, made of various materials. It is important to observe the full compliance of the parameters of the new parts and the seat.
Clearance and turns
Often the clearance is reduced due to the natural shrinkage of the damping springs,which occurs due to the constant high loading of the trunk and passenger compartment. In this case, it is necessary to replace the springs with new ones. In this case, you can take advantage of the situation and replace the old springs with reinforced ones of the cargo standard, which will be more consistent with the operating conditions of the car. An independent increase in the clearance of Renault Logan within a small range, 15-30 mm, will not entail any negative consequences, except for errors in the speedometer readings.
Center of gravity
However, with an increase in ground clearance of 30 mm or more, you need to be prepared for the fact that it will become more difficult to drive the machine. Since the center of gravity has become higher than the calculated point and the balance of the entire undercarriage has already been disturbed to some extent, sharp turns and turns will have to be avoided, as they can be dangerous. Before increasing the clearance of Renault Logan, it is necessary to determine the optimal values of the expected ground clearance and only then start work.
