The rapid development of the mining industry over the past decades has become an impetus for the development of the construction of modern quarry equipment that is capable of transporting large volumes of goods. The most advanced in the production of mining dump trucks, of course, is BelAZ. The technical characteristics of cars of this brand simply cannot but impress. Modern BelAZ trucks have a huge carrying capacity and at the same time have a high cross-country ability. They are able to work in the most inaccessible places and under adverse climatic conditions. These vehicles are widely used both in the mining industry and in the construction of large structures for various purposes. BelAZ, whose technical characteristics are constantly being improved, has become a true standard of power and reliability.

History of BelAZ

It all started in the difficult post-war years, back in 1948, when in the small Belarusian town of Zhodino, Minsk regiona peat machine building plant was built. In the early years, the enterprise was practically idle, until in 1958 the production of MAZ-525 dump trucks capable of transporting 25 tons of cargo was transferred from the Minsk Automobile Plant. Although the first products were not of high quality, the production of MAZs continued for quite a long time. In parallel with this, the development of a new car was carried out. As a result, in 1961, the first BelAZ-540 came off the assembly line, which had a carrying capacity of 27 tons. At the same time, the designers of the plant created BelAZ, the technical characteristics of which at that time seemed just fantastic - this truck could take on board 40 tons of cargo.

For the production of high-capacity dump trucks, developers have repeatedly received the highest awards at international exhibitions of special equipment. And it was far from the limit. In 1969, the 75-ton BelAZ-549 appeared, and in 1978 - BelAZ-7519, the carrying capacity of which was 110 tons. Then there was the 170-ton BelAZ-75211. By the mid-80s, the Belarusian Automobile Plant was already a recognized leader in the production of specialized equipment, producing up to 6000 vehicles per year, which accounted for 50% of the world production of heavy mining dump trucks. In 1990, the company's team broke the world record. A new 280-ton BelAZ was created, the characteristics of which allowed it to remain the largest car for 15 years.

Perestroika and the subsequent collapse of the Soviet Union did not become an obstacle to the development of heavy equipment for the plant. Even in the dashing 90s, the Belarusian Automobile Plant continued activeproduction, as evidenced by numerous national and international awards.

BelAZ today

The beginning of the new millennium was marked by the technical re-equipment of the plant. It is currently one of the largest production facilities in the world. In 2004, the production capacity of BelAZ increased due to the merger with the Mogilev Automobile Plant. In the post-Soviet period, a number of fundamentally new models were produced: 7540, 7548, 75481, 75483, 7560, as well as BelAZ-75131, etc. The real pride of the Belarusian automakers is the car with the number 75710, which has a carrying capacity of 450 tons. impress, it is currently the largest mining truck in the world.

Today, the Belarusian Automobile Plant is one of the three largest world manufacturers of special equipment, producing about 30% of mining dump trucks of various payloads. At the same time, production rates increase by 25-30% annually.
