Do not forget to check the cold run clearance and the integrity of the diaphragm of the entire cold start. We pay great attention to the float. It should not touch the wall of the float chamber. Adjustment of free play and level occurs by bending the corresponding tongues. And thanks to our own language, we check the tightness of the shut-off valve. Carefully screw the solenoid valve, as you can ruin the thread. Lubricate the O-ring with oil, this will help you feel the touch of the idle jet of your seat in the main cover.

Checking the tuning of the Solex carburetor:

  • Nuts so that they are well attached.
  • The action of the gas pedal drive (in the event thatif you fully press it, then the throttle valves should take a vertical position). This is regulated by the gas cable fastening nut, leaving the drive free to move, and pour a little gasoline into the 2nd chamber and wait about 20 seconds. During this time, gasoline should remain, but if it disappeared, then we look at the adjusting screw of the second chamber.
  • The operation of the accelerator pump. Gasoline from the atomizers should appear immediately after opening the throttle. If this does not happen, then to fix the problem, we look at the accelerator drive eccentric or lever.

Next, unscrew the air jets complete with emulsion tubes, as well as the fuel jets under them. Using a toothpick, we take out the fuel jets from the wells by unscrewing the power mode economizer cover (do not forget about the spring) to check the integrity of the cleanliness of the jet and diaphragm.

After all, we clean the carburetor tuning and assemble it, only in the reverse order. Cleaning is done with air. Try to blow thoroughly so that not a single mote remains. In the process of connecting the suction cable, you need to check and adjust its action. This setting of the Solex carburetor assumes without fail. If the choke knob is pushed in, the carburetor choke should be in the vertical position.
