An engine oil pump is a device used to inject oil into a running machine, which is pressurized against the surfaces of moving parts. It is designed to raise the pressure in the internal system, and is also used to provide lubrication of working parts.

The automatic transmission oil pump simultaneously performs one of the necessary and most important functions - this is the transfer of oil to a special tank from the crankcase.

The lubrication system in an internal combustion engine plays a significant role and is used to reduce wear, for corrosion protection and cooling of rubbing parts, removing unnecessary wear objects from their surfaces.

The engine's electric oil pump is a mechanism that does work from the camshaft or crankshaft, with the obligatory implementation of the correct operation of the drive shaft.

Mostly, the oil pump is divided into two types, depending on the engine models on which it is installed, that is, in terms of type adjustable or non-adjustable. They differ mainlythe fact that unregulated pumps create and ensure continuous lubrication pressure in the system through a reduction channel, and thanks to the regulation of pump performance, uninterrupted pressure is maintained at a constant level in adjustable pumps.

Currently, the most common type of oil pump is the gear oil pump. Its main advantage is that it is repairable, operates smoothly and reliably, and its replacement does not require significant financial investments. Such an oil pump consists of two extremely important elements - two gears, driven and leading, which are located inside the housing. Oil moves into the pump through the supply channel, is injected into the system directly through the discharge channel. The overall performance of the gear pump is directly dependent on the correct operation of the crankshaft.

In addition, it is worth paying attention to the fact that in the process of increasing the pressure of the supply oil of the required volume, the pressure reducing valves located in the channel are activated, which connect the suction and discharge cavities of the pump, transferring a certain amount of oil to the absorbing cavity.

In this case, the pressure contained by the pressure reducing valve directly depends on the spring compression force. When the maximum allowed pressure increases, the valve ball comes out and some oil begins to be pumped into the suction cavity, thus reducing the pressure inhighways. During the operation of the gears, the distance between the walls of the pump housing and the ends of the gear teeth should be taken into account, since, being located in the oil pump, they rotate in different directions. The pressure created by the oil and passing through the pump depends on the resistance of the line, the viscosity of the oil, the angular, as well as the overall speed of the gears.
