Geely X7 Emgrand is a car that appeared on the Russian car market in 2014. This is a new and very budget crossover, distinguished by acceptable technical characteristics, comfortable interior and stylish design.
Model exterior
Geely X7 Emgrand turned out to be very attractive. Although his appearance is typically Chinese. The photo of the model makes it clear that other status models with "breed" were chosen as a model for creating a design. But it was not possible to make the car completely identical.
Pleased with the front of the car - seasoned, serious, calm. No aggressiveness, which some have long become boring. Previously, it was expressed in a chrome-plated radiator grille. But the model is not designed that way. The radiator was replaced by a rather unusual square grille and rounded optics. She climbs a little on the wings, but this makes the car even more original. Also striking are the round fog lights. Plus, you can not ignore the front bumper air intake.
BGeely X7 Emgrand profile looks good too. Small body overhangs, stampings on the doors and fenders, a roof that is slightly heaped back - all this makes the car quite interesting. The only thing that can spoil the whole look is the feed of the car. It could have been done better - bigger lights, a lower bumper, a larger door. But even without this, everything is quite harmonious.
Specifications
The Emgrand X7 is not super powerful or fast. In general, this model is equipped with only one power unit - a two-liter, gasoline-powered, 139-horsepower. The design is in-line, the engine is injection, four-cylinder, 16-valve. All in all, nothing out of the ordinary.
Emgrand X7 received modest reviews from critics. A test drive showed that the technical characteristics of this car are far from ideal. More precisely, it all depends on the requirements of the buyer. If he wants to buy a dynamic and fast car, this Geely model is not for him. It accelerates to "weave" in 11.4 seconds, and the maximum is 170 km / h. The fuel tank for the crossover is also small - 60 liters. Although there is one plus here - a rather modest expense. In the urban cycle, Geely consumes a little more than ten liters, and on the highway - only 6.5. So in terms of efficiency, the X7 Emgrand wins.
Suspension and gearbox
The motor works in tandem with a five-speed "mechanics". Serious shortcomings during the tests were not identified - the speeds switch quite softly, the car does not "shake" at the momenttransmission changes. So far, there is no version with a 4-speed "automatic", but the Chinese plan to create one.
As for the chassis, the suspension of the new Geely is completely independent. The front part of the manufacturers performed according to the already traditional McPherson scheme. The back was made independent. So the orientation of the model is exclusively "asph alt".
The car does not have all-wheel drive, even as an additional option. The power steering is hydraulic, and the brakes on all wheels are disc. In principle, suitable for city roads.
About interior
And finally, a few words about the interior design. Interestingly, it looks quite respectable: spectacular wells in which instruments with built-in white lighting gently sink, a three-spoke steering wheel that is quite pleasant to the touch, with optimal thickness, and comfortable seats, albeit with not too good lateral support.
Ergonomics looks like European - all control buttons are clear and simple. And due to the inserts, designed for titanium, the interior looks very profitable and stylish. There are also airbags inside, plus EBD and ABS systems. And large rear-view mirrors and glass provide excellent visibility. In general, the interior of the new Geely can be called the most successful part of the fresh model. This is confirmed even by critics.
