At the end of last year, the German concern "Mercedes-Benz" publicly provided information about the restyled E-class sedans and station wagons, which will be available for sale in a year. But in January of this year, the company decided to finalize two more body options - these were the Mercedes-E-class (cabriolet) and coupe. Such an unexpected decision by the developers shocked many, and now domestic motorists can officially purchase a restyled convertible in Russia. Exterior
When developing the appearance, the designers were tasked with creating a more modern and aerodynamic body. As a result of multiple improvements, the Mercedes-cabriolet received a more sportya bumper that mimics a spoiler at the bottom of the car, a new grille and headlight unit, which have now become combined. Moreover, the last detail has built-in LED running lights, thanks to which the designers managed to create a kind of “four-eyed” effect.

If outwardly the Mercedes-cabriolet has changed only partially, then the developers have done a great job on the interior. The main changes are observed in the front part, including on the new panel board, which now has only 3 wells. The center console is also not left without attention. The layout of the control elements has been slightly improved, which, in turn, has a positive effect on the overall ergonomics of the cabin. The changes turned out to be successful, and now the restyled Mercedes-cabriolet inside began to look fresher and more modern.
Flip top operation
The main detail that distinguishes a convertible from other types of cars is, of course, the presence of a folding roof. The novelty is able to fold and unfold its top in 20 seconds, and the speed of the car during this process can reach up to 40 kilometers per hour (but no more). The entire roof folds into the trunk, which reduces the capacity of the car slightly (instead of the previous 390 liters, the open-top Mercedes convertible can store up to 300 liters of luggage).
Specifications
The car will have a new range of engines, which consists of six petrol and three turbodieselaggregates. Such a variety of choices allows the buyer to purchase a convertible to your taste and budget. Gasoline engines have a power range of 184-408 "horses". Diesel units develop power from 170 to 265 horsepower. All 9 engines can be equipped with a seven-speed manual or automatic transmission. Moreover, the smart "machine" is able to temporarily work in mechanical mode. To do this, the driver needs to use the paddle shifter and change gears at his discretion.
Cost
The starting price for the new Mercedes W212 cabriolet is 1,830,000 rubles. For the top-end equipment, you will have to pay about two and a half million rubles.
