Almost every car enthusiast knows that automatic transmission repairs are very expensive. This high cost arises from the fact that all the components of such a transmission are a complex system, and in the event of a malfunction, you usually have to change the entire box.

In addition, the automatic transmission is repaired for a long time and requires a lot of effort. There are times when repairs are not possible at all. In such situations, it is necessary to completely replace this part. And the cost of such a replacement is much higher than the cost of the vehicle itself. Based on this, we can say that it is better to follow all the rules of operation, to diagnose the condition of this expensive car part in a quality and timely manner, than to spend large sums of money on its repair or replacement.

Driving with a manual transmission should usually be accompanied by constant work with the clutch and, directly, the speed lever. This takes extra time and distracts the attention of the driver, so there was a need fordevice to get rid of it. And so the automatic transmission was born. You should know that a car with an automatic transmission has only two pedals - gas and brake. It is not worth studying its structure more deeply, since repairs on their own will still not work. Driving with an automatic transmission eliminates the driver's work with the clutch.

In addition, this transmission has several modes.

1. Parking mode (P). In this position, the high-speed lever must be moved only at the moment of a complete stop of the vehicle and when it is fully fixed by means of a hand brake.

2. Reverse mode (R). It is possible to turn it on while holding the brake pedal. Also, this mode can be used when the car is completely stopped. Otherwise, breakdowns cannot be avoided.

3. Neutral position mode (N). When the speed lever is in this position, the driver can start the engine. It should be understood that the automatic transmission should not be transferred to the "neutral" mode while driving!

4. Driving mode (D). When the lever is in this position, the vehicle is in motion. Gears in this mode are switched automatically.

In addition, the automatic transmission device involves the use of two more modes - D2 and D3. They should be included on roads with uphills or downhills. D3 - small slopes, D2 - heavyroad conditions.

Remember, if you need to switch the high-speed lever to any position, you should first completely stop the car. Otherwise, damage is possible. In addition, if the stop occurs for a short time, for example in traffic jams, then it is not worth switching from mode D to any other mode. Simply press the brake pedal. Well, try to always work with your head! It is also worth remembering that if you started your driving experience with a car that has an automatic transmission, then most likely you are unlikely to learn to drive cars with other types of transmission quickly - you quickly get used to comfort.
