Today we will talk about the legendary car, the favorite of street racers - Nissan Skyline R34. First, there will be a brief digression into history, then we will describe the "iron horse" itself, and, of course, I would like to say a few words about tuning this handsome man.
In 1957, Nissan introduced the first modification of the Skyline. These cars did not differ much from their counterparts, but it was already planned that in the future this series would grow into something more than just beautiful cars. Since 1986, a model in the back of the R31 has been in the lineup. The Japanese equipped it with a new 2-liter RB20DE engine with a declared power of 155 hp. With. In some configurations, a turbine was added to the motor, as a result of which the power increased to 215 “horses”.
In 1989, the eighth generation of the Nissan Skyline appeared. In the same year, the world saw two very interesting modifications. Namely: the "Skyline" GTS-4 and the sports version of the GT-R, created specifically for rally racing. Both cars were equipped with an all-wheel drive system, the name of which is ATTESA E-TS. The system was equipped with ABS, a multi-plate clutch was installed, andthe main feature is that the torque was distributed electronically along the axes of the car.
GT-R, unlike its counterpart, had an in-line engine with a volume of 2.6 liters and reached a power of 280 hp. With. The power of the car was amazing. This unit knew no equal on the roads of small Japan, but it still had a noticeable aesthetic flaw, namely: the appearance of the car was more than mediocre.
Since 1993, the 9th line has been produced in the new R33 body.
And here it is! In the spring of 1998, the company introduced the first Nissan Skyline R34 with the GT prefix. A new body and, accordingly, a new, tenth generation. This car was equipped with a 280-horsepower engine with a volume of 2.6 liters, two turbines were attached to the load, multiplying the “horses” up to 650 pieces. The new chassis makes the "baby" the most controllable car in its class. The novelty immediately finds fans. In addition, the Nissan Skyline R34 GT is recognized as the car with the most tuning options.
For those who do not know: tuning in automotive circles is a real art, designed to change your car beyond recognition, to express its bright personality. And what can I say about the Nissan Skyline R34, the characteristics of which are just asking: “Come on! What are you waiting for?! I am your canvas! Create, master! That is why it is impossible to meet the "Skyline" in the factory configuration on the roads today.
Of course, in addition to the appearance, the masters of the steering wheel “pump” the stuffingcars. For the Nissan Skyline R34 GT, everything happens approximately as follows. The volume of the engine is increased to 3 liters by installing a kit that regulates the volume. They do an ECU replacement (chip tuning), install a new engine management system. The injectors, valve camshafts and fuel pump are changed. A 6-speed gearbox is installed. For handling, they put more effective brakes, and the suspension is made lower and stiffer. Don't forget the carbon fiber clutch disc. Theoretically, you have a device on your hands that can fly into space, or at least accelerate to a hundred in some 3-4 seconds.
Externally, the cars change in such a way that it is almost impossible to see something in common between the two cars from this series. You can see it for yourself by looking at the presented photos.
