Since 2013, the production of these cars has resumed. Now they are produced jointly with the concern Nissan. Several new models were sent to the automotive markets of some countries: South America, Indonesia, Russia, India.

The production of a vehicle in Russia under the brand name Datsun was entrusted to the Togliatti plant. So soon newDatsun (Avtovaz) will be released for sale in the automotive markets of our country. It is assumed that manufacturers will base the Russian model on the platform of the Lada Granta VAZ model, which has the index "2190". Japanese engineers intend to turn the car into a budget sub-brand.

Brand Revival - Indian Hatchback

In 2013, the Datsun Go hatchback was introduced to the Indian market. This is the first model of the revived brand. It was produced by the Renault-Nissan alliance plant located in Oragadam (India).

If we compare the photographs of the Indian Datsun Go and the Russian model, we can see differences in appearance. They look completely different. What about technical specifications? On theAt the moment, there is little exact information about the sedan, mostly just speculation. But it is known that the Russian Datsun is being created on the platform of the Lada Granta car. In addition to external resemblance, the new sedan, they say, inherited many important details from the VAZ car:

• trunk lock;
• door handles;
• rear-view mirrors;
• number of passenger seats and doors (five each);
• seats.

The estimated dimensions of Datsun (AvtoVAZ) are known. The width of the car will be 1700 millimeters, the height - 1500, the length - 4337. These parameters exceed the values of the "Lada Grant". For example, its length is 4260 millimeters. This means that the Datsun interior should be more spacious. Whether this is so, it is still too early to say. According to experts, the volume of the luggage compartment will be 530 liters.

Ground clearance when loaded with all passengers, presumably, will reach 160 millimeters (which is quite enough for Russian roads), and in the absence of load - 185 millimeters. Most likely, due to these advantages, the Japanese company prefers to install these engines on their models.

The power of the Datsun (Avtovaz) engine is expected to be 87 horsepower. This parameter is typical for the Lada Kalina engine. It is known that the car will be equipped with a mechanical 5-speed gearbox, on which designers from Japan worked. In futureit is planned to produce cars with automatic transmission and expand the range of engines.

Manufacturers promise that the novelty will be reliable. They intend to install an anti-lock brake system, as well as airbags. They also plan to equip it with improved heat and noise insulation, reconfigure the suspension and improve shock absorbers. All this will be included in the basic package.

What about the cost? According to experts, the price of a budget sedan will start at 380,000 rubles and end at 420,000. It depends on the configuration of the Datsun (AvtoVAZ). 2014 prices almost coincide with the prices for domestic cars such as Priora, Kalina, Granta and foreign Almera, Logan. Sales in our country will be carried out through the Nissan dealer network. According to unconfirmed information, the start of mass production of budget news in Russia is planned for the end of 2014.

Budget models

According to some sources, the first Datsun models at AvtoVAZ are already ready, and are currently undergoing factory testing. The hatchback and sedan of the described brand will be the first to be put on the assembly line of the automobile plant. They will enter the Russian market at the end of 2014. As noted above, the body structure of all models is designed jointly with Nissan. And three years later, the manufacturer promises to release a compact crossover.
