At the end of the twentieth century, the Japanese company Toyota faced the acute problem of the need to create a new model, which was supposed to replace the obsolete Karina on the assembly line, the production of which had lasted for almost thirty years. As a result, the Toyota Allion was born. The technical characteristics of the novelty, high practicality, as well as full compliance with all aspects of the realities of the automotive market of that time made the novelty very popular not only in the domestic but also in the foreign market. Tests of the prototype of the new machine began to be carried out at Japanese test sites back in 2000. For cars with the first two engines, a four-speed automatic transmission was provided, and for cars with a third type, a continuously variable variator. In the last year of the release of the first generation, a modification with all-wheel drive also appeared. The second generation of Toyota Allion models was presented to the general public in March 2006. A year later, the machine was put into mass production.
Appearance
The developers made the main emphasis in the appearance of the new version of the car on aggressiveness. To do this, the designers installed on the car a completely new head xenon optics, a hood with expressive lateral relief lines, as well as a triangular “serrated” radiator grille. The massive front bumper of the car with a barred air intake made in the form of a bone deserves separate words. The lines of the front pillars of the Toyota Alion model are somewhat littered back and smoothly turn into a streamlined roof, which ends with massive rear pillars. Due to the rather large areaglazing provides the driver with excellent visibility. The front mirrors, which are very wide, also contribute to it. The design of the side doors provides easy disembarkation and landing of passengers. The rear lights are made in the shape of a rhombus and are located in a horizontal plane. The model is built on the same platform as the latest generation of the Toyota Avensis. The dimensions of the machine in length, width and height, respectively, are 4565x1695x1475 millimeters. As for the clearance, for the second generation its value is 160 millimeters.

In the interior of the latest version of the Toyota Alion, the developers have retained many of the features characteristic of the previous modification. The main innovation here was the use of higher quality and wear-resistant materials in the upholstery of interior elements and seats. Practicality can be called a key feature of the interior of the model. There are no extra or unnecessary frills in the driver's seat. The instrument panel is simple and concise. It has a large speedometer and tachometer, as well as a vertical small screen that displays the number of the active gear and the remaining fuel in the tank.
On the four-spoke steering wheel of the Toyota Alion car with a wide hub there are buttons for controlling the multimedia system, as well as cruise control. All chairs are recline adjustable. The front seats canalso boast excellent lateral support. The central air ducts are covered by a stylish visor. The latest version of the Toyota Alion model deserves special words from a technical point of view. In particular, the developers have provided for her three improved motors from the previous modification. Their power is respectively 110, 145 and 158 horsepower. All engines boast the presence of variable valve timing technology. As for the transmission, the model uses a stepless variator. In the standard version, the front wheels are driving in the car. Along with this, all-wheel drive options are available as an option offer. On the secondary domestic market, a car of the 2003 model can be purchased for approximately 350 thousand rubles.
