About 11 thousand cars of this modification left the company's conveyors. During production, engineers used advanced technologies in the automotive industry, and tests were carried out on high-speed highways. The two-liter naturally aspirated engine, consisting of four cylinders, has become the main highlight of the Honda S2000 model. The technical characteristics of the power unit made it possible to develop 240 horsepower. Many owners noted the possibility of changing from an aluminum top to a canvas version.
In 2004, the developersmodel has been upgraded. In addition to some changes in the exterior, the designers reconfigured the chassis. For American buyers, a 2.2-liter engine was offered as an option. The exterior of the Honda S2000 was developed by a group of designers led by Shigeru Uhara. At first glance, the stampings on the side parts of the body are striking. The lighting system deserves special mention. In particular, LED technology was used here, which made it possible to significantly increase the speed of switching on and the brightness of the lamps. The dimensions of the car in length, width and height were 4117x1750x1270 millimeters, respectively.
Thanks to such a modest size and powerful engine, the developers managed to create a very maneuverable car. Among other things, the Honda S2000 model also boasts good aerodynamic performance. It takes only six seconds to unfold the soft top.
Interior
Creating the interior of the car, the developers tried to emphasize its sporty style as much as possible. The simple lines of the dashboard and the control levers located near the steering wheel seem to be reminiscent of speed competitions. When the ignition is turned on, the console lights up in bright orange. The seats in the car are distinguished by good support and a comfortable anatomical shape, which allows you to firmly hold the driver and passenger even during steepmaneuvers. The choice of the buyer was offered a black and red version of the color of the chairs. High quality materials were used in the interior decoration. Due to the fact that the interior is exposed to sunlight, the developers took care of the resistance of its elements to ultraviolet radiation. The useful volume of the luggage compartment is only 152 liters.

Model "Honda S2000" received a 2.2-liter gasoline engine. It functions in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission. The first four gears are shortened, thanks to which the speed is gained rapidly. Automatic transmission for this car was not provided. The average fuel consumption per hundred kilometers is 14 liters.
The wide wheelbase of the car, in combination with a rigid body and a road stability system, provided almost perfect handling. Front and rear, the developers installed a multi-link and double-lever beam. The steering of the car takes place with the help of an electric amplifier. Not to mention the presence of ABS and disc brakes on each wheel.

Honda S2000 is not practical. Yes, and it was created far from being for quiet city trips, but for those who like to drive "with the breeze". In this regard, it is not surprising that over the ten-year history of its existence, the model has found its fans, the number of which is calculatedmillions.
