Yamaha YZF-R1 is the flagship of the world famous company. In 1988, she introduced engineering innovations designed for motorcycles. But until 1998, this model was based on the original Genesis engine.

This year's Yamaha YZF-R1 is not much different from its predecessor, except for the graphics and coloring. However, there have been some changes. We modernized the axle of the gearbox, lengthening it, - soimproved switching. Also, some changes were made to the clutch. The capacity of the tank (reserve) was limited to more than a liter. A series of innovations and changes

In 2000, the concern introduced a large number of different transformations. The Yamaha YZF-R1 even changed the bodywork, which improved handling over long distances. Even taking into account the fact that a new air-induction system was added, which weighed about 1.8 kilograms, the total weight of the vehicle did not reach the required 175 kg. 150 hp was announced, but the maximum output remained the same, despite the changes made to the control system, due to which the power began to be distributed fully and evenly.

The deceleration factor was reduced by three percent. The body of the headlights was also changed, giving them aggression. The side panels of the motorcycle are sleek and aerodynamic. We can say that the Yamaha YZF-R1 was almost completely changed. Specifications have become better, and the motorcycle itself has become an order of magnitude better in terms ofcompared to its predecessors.

Competition

Until 2001, the Yamaha YZF-R1 was the best in its lineup. But then the Suzuki GSX-R1000 was released, which weighed almost the same, but its technical characteristics were much better. It produced more power, more modern torque. In addition, 2001 was the last year when the Yamaha concern used a carburetor engine in its motorcycles. The GSX-R1000 managed to surpass this model in terms of power, however, judging by the ease of operation and comfort, the Yamaha YZF-R1 clearly wins in this criterion. And this despite the fact that she consumed a lot of oil at that time.

Yamaha YZF-R1 has only good reviews. But, despite this, many motorists turned their attention to motorcycles from Honda. Yamaha, feeling the competition, began to make more serious changes to its lineup. These were stylistic moments, such as exhaust pipes under the seat, and improved technical performance, and many others. There was a completely new engine, steering damper. In addition, problems that had previously occurred, for example, the steering wheel stopped shaking during fast acceleration, were eliminated.

Modern models

In 2006, a new model of this motorcycle was introduced. Then, in the same models, it was possible to achieve 180 hp. With. on the flywheel. Also, in addition to it, the model gained an engine in which technology taken from MotoGP was applied, with shaft cranks and irregular bursts of the mixture. Its power reached 182 hp. with., which fully complies with the generally accepted Euro3 standard. The seats have also been updated - the angle of elevation of the tank has become much softer, and the recesses for the legs have also become more in-depth.
