Production of MAZ-5549 began in 1977 and continued for 5 years. It was produced on the basis of the previous model - MAZ-5335 - by the Minsk Automobile Plant. And many drivers are ready to move mountains on this dump truck with all its shortcomings and inconveniences. It was replaced in 1985 by a new truck - MAZ-5551.

Today you can buy MAZ-5549 at a small price. Especially such a car is convenient for farmers who do not want to be dependent on hired transport. And the driver, of course, should be rewarded with sleight of hand, that is, to ensure timelyrepair. The car breaks down infrequently, but still the years take their toll.

Panoramic glass in older models is missing, there is only a windshield. This can also be considered a "chip" of the Belarusian truck. The lifting of the MAZ body works with the help of an automatic drive. The volume of the metal platform is 5.7 cubic meters. The steering wheel of the dump truck is almost vertical and has a thin rim, but it is equipped with power steering.

The brake system is equipped with front and rear drum mechanisms, as well as a pneumatic drive. The truck managed to distinguish itself with its performance. Of course, this dump truck is from the last century and has a lot of flaws, but it's too early to send it to a landfill, as it will still be useful to the driver.

As for the next model - MAZ-5551, it is produced to this day. For this development, several chassis options are available: for various specialized equipment and a dump truck. The cab of the tractor differs radically from its predecessors. The radiator grille and the shape of the headlights have been changed. The windshield became panoramic, not bifurcated. A new spoiler appeared on the roof. New control levers and a steering wheel were installed in the car.
