Largus Cross is a rather attractive novelty that was recently developed by the Russian company AvtoVAZ. The new Lada is a station wagon that many have been waiting for. And no wonder! After all, Largus Cross is a development, so to speak, a conceptual continuation of the Lada Largus station wagon, most bought by Russian motorists. Manufacturers decided to make two versions - for 5 and 7 seats. And they did not lose.

The car differs from its predecessor in a more expensive, aggressive design. The features include increased ground clearance (which is very important, given our Russian roads), protective plastic lining, which can be seen onrear and front bumpers, sills and wheel arches, as well as film-lined door frames. And of course, 16-inch alloy wheels immediately catch your eye. The model turned out to be quite attractive.

The new Lada is a station wagon that boasts increased cross-country ability. Each person who drives this car will then be able to declare with confidence that this car was really made by Russian manufacturers for our roads. And this is its main advantage and feature.

The developers equipped the car with a reliable, durable suspension and a fairly high-torque engine. At the same time, Largus Cross is not as expensive as its “classmates”. The manufacturers themselves claim that this car is an indispensable assistant for those families who love to relax in nature and are used to using the car every day. Largus Cross receives positive reviews, both from people who simply drive a novelty to work and on business, and from those who like to travel to different cities. Although there are not very many owners of this model in Russia yet, despite this, it has already managed to become famous.

Salon decoration

Telling about Largus Cross, one cannot help but note the interior of this car. Of course, you should not expect that the seats will be upholstered in natural calfskin or the designers use precious woods in the decoration. But on the other hand, everything inside is quite practical, ergonomic and cannot be said to be uncomfortable.

The developers decided to keepthe former functionality of the salon. But they brought originality - due to the unusual colors. There are versions with bright acid-green inserts (can be traced both in the design of many parts and devices, and in the line on the covers), and with orange, even orange ones. I would like to note that orange (or green) leather inserts were also used in the door upholstery. Inside, you can even notice the signature touch of the new station wagon, and this is the Largus Cross inscription on the threshold, or rather in the plastic insert.

But in addition to the bright options that are designed for young people, there is a novelty, the interior of which is made in light gray classic colors. And more expensive versions, the price of which exceeds 600,000 rubles, even have leather elements in the finish. But more on that later.

Few VAZ crossovers can be called so successful and bought. This multi-purpose station wagon can be safely considered as such. And of course, for what reason. Not only because of the positive reviews and good description. The fact is that this car, or rather its project, was developed together with such a well-known alliance as Renault-Nissan. And the Romanian model Dacia Logan MCV was taken as the basis. To put it in simple terms, a rather good tuning was carried out over the specified machine. "VAZ", to be more precise, changed the model and finalized it for Russian conditions (weather and road). The car quickly became one of the most purchased cars produced by the concern. Even in 2014, when the market was in a severe downturn, dealers soldover 65,000 models. This is as much as 7,500 copies more than in the previous year, 2013 (we are talking about the predecessor of the Largus Cross 5 model).

Automakers from Togliatti consider it a tradition to produce so-called pseudo-SUVs. So the majority calls station wagons of this company. What can be said about the mass production of Largus Cross 7? This model, like the version with 5 seats, began to be produced in February of the current, 2015. Shortly before that, in December 2014 (by the way, a year ago), Lada Kalina Cross cars began to appear.

It is already possible to purchase the new 2015 Largus Cross. Its price starts at 553 thousand rubles. There will be more expensive, improved versions, but so far the data is like this.

Dimensions

You should always get acquainted with the technical features from the size of the car. So, this “pseudo SUV” is 4470 mm long. The wheelbase remains the same as its predecessor, that is, 2905 mm. Manufacturers have increased the width, but purely symbolically - by only 6 millimeters. So with this change it is 1756 mm. But the height has become greater - 1682 millimeters. And before it was 24 mm less! Due to this improvement in headroom, the rear passengers have increased, and, oddly enough, noticeably. But the main feature, which was already mentioned earlier, is the clearance, which was increased by as much as 2.5 centimeters. It would seem that the modernization is not too tangible. Yes, if not for the solid ground clearance, whichequals 170 millimeters! Although the novelty does not have all the off-road qualities that are familiar to true crossovers and jeeps, it has good cross-country ability. And the Russian driver, who is perfectly familiar in practice with such concepts as “dirt”, “stones”, “rubble”, “holes”, “potholes”, “potholes”, etc., needs this. According to reviews, the Lada copes with irregularities perfectly. Not to say that it smooths them out completely, but neither the driver nor the passengers will feel any obvious discomfort from off-road driving.

It has already been said that the novelty from Lada boasts a good level of comfort and space. Well, it really is. Passengers of the second and third (with a seven-seat performance) car are provided with a considerable amount of free space. According to reviews, you do not get tired in them, even if the trip takes several hours.

By the way, I would like to note one interesting point regarding the 7-seat version. Behind there is another sofa with two very comfortable seats. And access to “Kamchatka” is not bad, you can easily accommodate there and not feel cramped.

But the main pride of the Lada, if we talk about space, is the luggage compartment. If you take into account the 7-seater version, it can take another 135 liters of additional cargo (plus all seven passengers). A 5-seater car will easily accommodate 560 liters. But that's not all that Largus Cross can boast of. The technical characteristics of this machine are such that if you fold the second row seats, then the volumefree space for the transport of goods will be 2350 liters! So the novelty from "Lada" will be a good vehicle that will help in moving bulky items. In such a car, you can go on a trip with several suitcases and transport things to a new home.

Specifications

Many people who buy "Largus Cross" want to carry out technical tuning. VAZ does not produce such powerful cars as, say, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc. Therefore, this desire can be understood. However, in fairness, it should be noted that the model turned out to be not so weak. Under the hood of this car, a 105-horsepower gasoline engine is installed, equipped with electronically controlled distributed fuel injection. 4-cylinder, 16-valve - the development of Renault, by the way! This power unit is driven by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The volume of the engine, by the way, is rather big - 1.6 liters.

The suspension is excellent. The famous independent MacPherson is installed in front, and a torsion bar semi-independent beam is installed in the back. The braking system is also good. The front brakes are disc and the rear are drum. Naturally, you need to “feed” such a model with 95th gasoline. By the way, the volume of the tank is not so small - 50 liters. And the consumption is nine liters per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle. And finally, the maximum. It is 165 kilometers per hour. And the car accelerates to “weave” in 13.1 seconds. 7-seat version - in 13.5 s.

Equipment

This novelty, according tomanufacturers, can please its potential buyers with additional equipment. Already in the initial, in the basic equipment, the car received a full power package, good fog lights, heated front seats, a steering wheel (which boasts a natural leather braid!), A powerful audio system (Hands Free, AUX, Bluetooth, USB, mp3) with four speakers, on-board computer, air conditioning, frontal airbags, BAS, ABS systems, in general, indeed, the set is rather big for a Lada. But the cost of the 2015-2016 model. will be 615,000 rubles (5-seater version) and 640,000 rubles. (7-seater). The price is rather high, but for a crossover - new, especially with such pretty good performance and a decent level of comfort - it's not a pity.
