In 2010 sales of a compact and nice crossover "Mitsubishi ACX" started in our country. The technical characteristics of the car in combination with the appearance were positively received not only by Russian consumers. The model also received high marks from most experts in this field. Another confirmation of the success of the car in our country was the sales statistics. After some work on the comments in the debut modification during the New York Auto Show, Japanese designers demonstrated an updated version of the Mitsubishi ACX. The technical characteristics of the car, along with its exterior and interior, have been improved. This will be discussed further.
Exterior and Interior
The novelty, in comparison with the previous version, received a new front bumper, as well as a modified radiator grille. In the rear part, the location and shape of the reflectors have been changed, which now have a round shape and are located below. More significant changes have affected the Mitsubishi ACX salon, photowhich is located below. Here, the first thing that catches the eye is the new steering wheel, which is exactly the same as in the "Outlander" model. The view of the rear cameras is now displayed on the 7-inch radio monitor, and not on the rear-view mirror, as before. The washer for selecting the mode of operation of the gearbox was replaced by a button called "4WD". With its help, switching between 2WD, 4WD and Lock modes is carried out. The rear axle of the car is activated automatically when traffic conditions worsen.
Engines and transmission
As in the previous modification of the car, one of the most significant advantages of "Mitsubishi ACX" is the technical characteristics of the engines. Their variations for the model remained the same. The most modest option is a 117-horsepower power unit with a volume of 1.6 liters. It functions in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox. In this case, only the front axle is used in the modification. The next engine is a 1.8-liter unit that develops 140 horsepower. It is also installed on cars with front-wheel drive, but works with a CVT-variator. The most powerful engine is a two-liter Mivec with a capacity of 150 "horses". In this case, all-wheel drive is attached to the variator. An interesting feature of the 2013 Mitsubishi ACX engines was that their sound grows in proportion to the set of revolutions and corresponds to the degree of pressing the gas pedal.
Chassis and electronics
As a test drive of the car shows, Japanese designersimproved and chassis. The novelty received new front stabilizer struts and modified settings on the rear shock absorbers. Thanks to this, all kinds of road flaws no longer cause such discomfort as before. The electronics of the machine responds better to road conditions thanks to the use of a new stability control unit. Driving a car has become more pleasant largely due to the electric power steering.
Cost
The price for the new Mitsubishi ACX, the technical characteristics of which were described above, in the minimum configuration at domestic dealers starts at 699 thousand rubles. The cost of the maximum modification of a car with all-wheel drive reaches the amount of 1.120 million rubles. Despite this, the model is one of the three best-selling crossovers in our country.
