"Honda Pilot" is a Japanese-made SUV, the hallmark of which is its impressive dimensions, powerful engine and solid appearance. In the countries of the European Union, few people are attracted to such cars, but in Russia the situation is completely different. Indeed, for a serious Russian hero, it is not supposed to be crowded in a small and economical runabout. In general, this SUV was not designed either for Europe or for Russia. North America is its main consumer. Despite this, Russian motorists can still buy this big car. So, let's take a closer look at its design and specifications.
New "Honda Pilot" 2014. Photo and review of appearance
From the outside, the SUV looks impressive. And all thanks to the lack of glamorous lines and exquisite forms.
This crossover has a purely off-road look - the simplicity of lines and classic forms make you pay attention to this car. Moreover, masculinity in the SUV is present in almost every detail, from the powerful grille to the harsh power bumper and massive wheel arches.
Interior overview
Inside, the Japanese crossover is also imbued with masculinity - here all the details have the same strict forms. Despite this, the Honda Pilot car cannot be classified as purely military. When designing the interior, the developers paid great attention to driver comfort, which is manifested in the ergonomic location of the steering wheel and all controls, a comfortable electric driver's seat, as well as an abundance of electronic sensors and systems.
The only negative is the low quality of the finishing material - the torpedo is sheathed with cheap plastic, not very pleasant to the touch.
What's under the hood?
If we talk about the technical characteristics, the Honda Pilot is equipped with a six-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 257 horsepower and a displacement of 3.5 liters. By the way, it runs on 92 gasoline, which is very important for the Russian area, where the fuel at gas stations is not of the best quality. It works in tandem with a 5-speed automatic transmission, thanks to which it has a smooth and soft ride.
Dynamics
If we talk about high-speed technical characteristics, the Honda Pilot has quite high acceleration rates: the car picks up a “hundred” in just 9.9 seconds. The maximum speed of the SUV is 180 kilometers per hour. Those are pretty good specs. "Honda Pilot" provides quite acceptable indicators of fuel consumption. On the highway, the engine consumes about 9 liters per 100 kilometers. In the city, this figure increases to 16.3 liters.
We have reviewed all the specifications. The Honda Pilot is a very economical SUV, because what other 257 horsepower engine will consume so much gasoline? Buy a Honda Pilot! Specifications speak for themselves!
