History

The car in question has been produced since 1993. During this time, four generations have changed.

The production of the first Sportage (NB-7) was completed in 2006. It was also produced in Russia (Avtotor).

The second generation (KM) appeared in 2004. It was also produced at Avtotor,and also in Ukraine (ZAZ).

The third Sportage (SL) replaced the previous one in 2010. Production was launched at Asia Auto, where its production continues to this day.

The fourth generation (QL) appeared in 2016. Also available at Avtotor and Asia Auto.

Body

All Sportage have a body style traditional for the segment - 5-door station wagon. True, in configuration it is more reminiscent of a 5-door hatchback on the last two generations of the Kia Sportage. Its dimensions are 4.48 m long, 1.855 m wide, 1.635 m high. The wheelbase is 2.67 m, the front track is 1.625 m, the rear track is 1.636 m. The weight is 2.05 - 2.25 tons, depending on the version of the Kia Sportage. The new body, according to journalists, is similar in design to SUV Porche. The volume of the fuel tank is 62 liters.

In addition, following the example of premium brands, the manufacturer began to offer factory tuning of the Kia Sportage in the form of a modified design of the bumpers of the highest trim levels.

Engine

Three transmissions are available for the Sportage: 6-speed automatic and manual, 7-speed DCT robotic transmission. The 2 liter version is equipped with both "mechanics" and "automatic", turbocharged - DCT, diesel - automatic transmission.

For the 2L Sportage, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available with both gearboxes. More powerful versions are only all-wheel drive.

At the same time, the second option is much better in terms of elasticity: it takes 6.7 seconds to accelerate from 60 to 100 km / h versus 11.1 seconds. The front-wheel drive versions are slightly faster: 10.5 and 11.6 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h, respectively.

The car with automatic transmission is also ahead of the version with "mechanics" in acceleration from the move: 6.2 seconds against 10.4 seconds. The maximum speed for all 2 liter modifications is just over 180 km / h. Diesel Sportageaccelerates to 100 km/h from standstill in 9.5 seconds and from 60 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The fastest, despite slightly lower performance, is a turbocharged 1.6 liter car. "Kia Sportage" in this modification in the same disciplines has indicators of 9.1 and 4.7 s, respectively. The maximum speed for both modifications is 201 km/h.

The diesel car consumes the least fuel: 7.9 liters in the city, 5.3 liters on the highway and 6.3 in mixed conditions. It is followed by 1.6 liters of Sportage in this indicator: 9.2, 6.5, 7.5 liters, respectively. The least powerful version is also the most expensive in terms of fuel. The front-wheel drive version with manual transmission consumes 10.7 liters in the city, 6.3 liters on the highway, and 7.9 liters in mixed mode. An all-wheel drive car with an "automatic" surpasses it by about 0.5 l.

Top Gear testers note good suspension energy, especially compared to the previous generation model, with precise control, as well as well-coordinated work of diesel and automatic transmission. At the same time, the journalists of "Koles" talk about the relatively noisy operation of the diesel engine.

The initial version is with 2 liter petrol engine. The price of cars of the current year, excluding discounts, ranges from 1.25 to 2 million rubles. Diesel Sportage can be purchased for 1.905 - 2.095 million rubles. The turbocharged petrol version is sold for 2.065 million rubles.
