Replacing the ball joint is not too difficult, but it requires some skill, skill, and a small kittools. In this case, time is limited by daylight hours, and the necessary devices may not be at hand. Replacing the ball joint then becomes an unpleasant experience, but let's not talk about sad things.
First you need to install the car's front cross member on something stable and fairly high. Then, under the hood, the shock absorber rod is unscrewed, which is also attached from below, with two bolts. After that, it is worth loosening the nut on the ball. There is a possibility that, under the action of the spring, the finger itself will jump out of the bipod, but you should not rely on such a case. Therefore, the replacement of the ball joint is not complete without a hammer. Several hits are made on the bipod, after which the finger should be released.
WARNING. You do not need to completely unscrew the nuts, because after releasing the finger, nothing will hold the spring, and it will simply fly out, and its energy is very high. In addition, the lever can be damaged in this way. To compress the springs, special ties are used, which are installed on both sides of the coils. Then they are twisted and the spring is compressed. You should still be careful here, because the ties can slip off,and she will suddenly open up, the consequences can be the most deplorable.
After that, the ball joint is replaced. Next, install everything in reverse order. Here, too, do not forget about safety. You also need to think about an assistant, because doing such work alone is problematic. We will not consider the scenario of the reasons why a ball replacement may be required. VAZ 2107 does not differ in suspension design from other Soviet and Russian "classic" cars, so this instruction is applicable to all rear-wheel drive cars of this brand.
