Honda's Prelude passenger car is a sporty two-door coupe with a recognizable appearance, powerful powertrains and good equipment, designed primarily for long-distance travel.

Company History

Honda was founded in 1946, and the founder was the Japanese entrepreneur Soichiro Honda, who developed and manufactured piston rings. The development of the company rapidly began in the early 1950s, after the technological premises in Tokyo were acquired and converted into a conveyor motorcycle production. This method of assembling motorcycles was used for the first time in the world. The quality of the company's products, as well as the sports victories of motorcycles, significantly increased sales, which made it possible not only to expand production capacity and increase the number of employees, but also to start export deliveries of manufactured equipment.

In 1963, the first Honda T360 pickup and S 500 passenger cars were produced. The success of the automotive direction of the company was brought by the small car "Civic", manufactured in 1973. Economy of the modelprovided a massive demand for a car, and after three years the number of copies sold exceeded 1.0 million units. In 1978, production began on the next iconic Honda Prelude car.

Currently, the number of employees of the company exceeds 200 thousand, and among the various high-tech products it should be noted:

Honda in Russia

Official sales of Honda cars in our country started in 1991. These were the Civic and Accord models. Cars received stable sales, which allowed the company to be the first Japanese automaker to open a representative office in Moscow next year and start creating a dealer network. The appearance of official dealers made it possible, together with cars, to start selling motorcycles and other company products in 1993.

The next step in the consolidation of the company in Russia was the creation of special centers that combine a car dealership, a service station, a warehouse of spare parts and consumables for cars and other Honda equipment. Due to the large number of such centers, a separate division of Honda Motor RUS was created in 2004.

Currently, these multidisciplinary centers of official Honda dealers offer CR-V, Pilot and New CR-V off-road vehicles, six models of motorcycles, a variety of outboard motors and numerousgarden equipment.

The Honda Prelude is a four-seater sports coupe that began production in 1978. The first two generations of the car were made on the basis of the Accord model. Starting with the third generation, released in 1983, the car has acquired its own platform.
