Korean automaker Sang Yong was founded in 1954. And initially it was a small company that produced military off-road vehicles under an American license. Later, the production of trucks, buses and special equipment was mastered.

Since 2000, the interests of Sang Yong of the Korean automaker in our country have been represented by the Sollers auto concern, which also in 2005 began assembling Rexton SUVs in Naberezhnye Chelny, and then opened an assembly plant in the Far East. Currently, due to a drop in demand in the domestic car market, the assembly of models by the South Korean company has been suspended.
