The history of the Chevrolet Camaro has been going on for almost fifty years. Despite positioning the car as completely new, the engineers still borrowed some elements from the Corvair and Chevelle. The car was distinguished by a wide choice of power plants, among which were 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder V-shaped engines, the volume of which was from 3.6 to 7 liters, and the power was from 140 to 375 horsepower. Chevrolet Camaro engines worked in tandem with mechanics in three or four steps or with a 2-speed automatic. Since then, the model has been repeatedly improved.
According to the plans of the designers from GM, the update of the model in 1998 was to be the last and complete its 35-year history. This time, the engineers paid the most attention to the design of the car, which featured a spectacular air intake on the hood, as well as thin headlights, slightlystretched forward. The car has become much more streamlined and dynamic. Salon Chevrolet Camaro is fully consistent with the status of a high-class sports car. The interior, which featured leather-wrapped seats and a steering wheel, looked simply chic. Moreover, the magnificent dashboard could not leave anyone indifferent to this model. Probably, it was this fact that in 2005 forced GM to reconsider its decision and resume production of the model. As a result, in 2010, the first copies of it, belonging to the fifth generation, rolled off the assembly line. The car is a compartment designed to accommodate four people. Despite many changes, the designers managed to keep the "native" features of the car, characteristic of earlier versions. Thus, we have a model in which modern technologies and the spirit of previous generations are organically combined.
At the heart of the latest Chevrolet Camaro is a rear-wheel drive platform with independent suspension designed specifically for this model. Underthe hood of the novelty, depending on its modification, fits a 3.6-liter “six” or a 6.2-liter “eight” working with a manual gearbox. The units respectively develop 304 and 427 horsepower. It should be noted that the second motor can also function with a machine gun, but its power in this case is 400 “horses”. Despite such powerful engines, the car does not have too high fuel consumption. By this, he should be grateful to a special system that is able to turn off part of the cylinders on its own. Some time later, an open version of the car was born, the design of which differs only in the absence of a roof. All other features of the model remained untouched. As for the cost of the Chevrolet Camaro, the price in Russia starts at 2.055 million rubles.
