According to the manufacturer, the KamAZ-65116 tractor is equipped with a superior cabin. However, reviews prove otherwise. There is no minimum set of devices required for long-distance transportation. So, the owners themselves have to install:
- Auxiliary heater.
- Walkie-talkie.
- Radio with speakers.
- Voltage converter from 24 to 12 Volt.
The interior is rather ascetic: a flat front panel with huge buttons, a shapeless seat and an arrow instrument panel. Remarkably, this KamAZ does not have the usual floor accelerator pedal. The gearshift lever is very high. By the way, in the photo you can see a dangling braid. This is not a defect - in this form the backstage comes from the factory. The owners themselves have to modify it. The steering wheel is not as big as usual, which is very pleasing. But the range of adjustments is limited. The cabin is not sprung, and all the blows from the suspension go directly to the cabin. What pleases is good visibility due to the captain's landing. The car uses six mirrors fixed around the entire perimeter of the cabin. The presence of dead zones is minimized. Climbing into the cockpit is fairly easy thanks to metal handrails and a few steps. Unfortunately, that's where the benefits end. There is not enough space in the cab. The air intake eventually begins to "dube" and emit an unpleasant hum. In addition, vibrations from the motor are noticeably felt. To get rid of them at least partially, the owners install a third pair of pillows under the body. The noise of the engine is heard in all modes of its operation - this is a childhood disease of all KamAZ trucks.
KAMAZ-65116: specifications
As a forceinstallation on the tractor of the first generation uses a diesel turbocharged V-shaped unit for eight cylinders. The working volume of this motor is 11.75 liters. The engine complies with Euro-2 environmental standards. The manufacturer KamAZ used a system of direct fuel injection and intermediate air cooling in this engine. KAMAZ with Cummins
The manufacturer understood that the engine had a lot of flaws, so in 2012 he replaced the old KamAZ-65116 engine with the Chinese Cummins. The power unit was marked 6 ISBe 300 and complies with Euro-4 standards. Unlike the first, Cummins has only six cylinders at its disposal, and they are all arranged in a row. Engine power is 282 horsepower. Torque - 1082 Nm at one and a half thousand revolutions. The cooling system has been improved in the design. If ain the previous motor, a viscous coupling was used to drive the fan, then the Cummins used an electrical system. The motor is equipped with a turbine and an intercooler, which allows you to cool the air supplied to the intake manifold. However, owner reviews say that the design of the air radiator has flaws. So, the owners had to increase the flow area. To do this, honeycombs were cut out and pipes were welded into the structure.
Capacity
What is the capacity of the KamAZ-65116 truck? The permissible load on the saddle unit is 15 tons. At the same time, the total mass of the car does not exceed 22,850 kilograms. The load on the front axle is 5 tons, and on the rear two - 17.85. The manufacturer claims that the KamAZ truck tractor is capable of towing a semi-trailer with a gross weight of up to 30 tons. However, as practice shows, the car often drives with overloads. Of course, this also affects fuel consumption.

How much does this truck use to travel 100 kilometers? According to passport data, without load, the car consumes 22 liters per hundred. But in practice, these figures are quite different. After all, this car is constantly working under load.
