The fifth generation of the brand

From 1995 to 2003, Mitsubishi produces new Mitsubishi Mirage models. Almost every year, she makes various improvements to the performance of the car, then to its design. For example, initially the sedan slightly increased in size, and the coupe reduced its dimensions.

For 1997, the sedan gets a new grille, and the three-door hatchback gets some chrome in its design (chrome grille, bumper stripes, side mirrors, and door handles) and bumper-mounted fog lights.

This generation produced the same body types as the previous one - sedan, coupe and hatchback. The engines of this brand of car had various modifications and became a little more powerful than their predecessors. Three-door hatchback Mitsubishi Mirage 2000 with an engine capacity of 1.6, for example, had an engine power of 113 horsepower, consumed more than 8 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers and accelerated to 100 kilometers in 12 seconds. 2.0 diesel and petrol engines were also produced. At the same time, powerful engines appeared in sedans. The engine power of the 1.8 liter four-wheel drive car was over 200 horsepower.

The current generation of Mitsubishi Mirage

In 2012, the company decided to continue producing the famous model, although its goal has changed markedly. Manufacturers decided to create an economical, environmentally friendly and inexpensive five-door hatchback. Therefore, the engines in this model have a volume of 1.0 and 1.2 liters. Hatchback Mirage 1.0 consumes only 4 liters per 100 kilometers, accelerates in 13 seconds, reaches speeds of up to 172 kilometers per hour and has a power of 69 horsepower. Mirage 1.2 features slightly more power and speed, as well as gas mileage.

This time, both the characteristics of the Mitsubishi Mirage and its design have been changed. Significantly reduced the size of the body, although quite large bumpers were made.
