This can be annoying and distract the driver from the road. This problem was partially solved by placing on the center console the three most requested system control keys - "Main Menu", "Navigation Menu" and "Phone Menu", but this solved only part of the problems.
The use of this media is a mandatory measure of the automaker. The company got it in this form after Ford disbanded the PAG group of premium brands, after which the Indians became the new owners of Jaguar and Land Rover, and Ford left all the developments in multimedia systems. Despite this, after the mark of 20-30 km / h, it allows you to gain acceleration, which many gasoline engines will envy. A noticeable acceleration is observed up to 200 km / h, after which a decline becomes noticeable in the dynamics.
Despite the fact that the Jaguar XF is considered a sports sedan, it is not. Yes, it is equipped with powerfulengines, but the suspension and handling settings say otherwise. They are "sharpened" for the comfort of passengers. The suspension is very energy-intensive and soft. When driving on poor quality roads, the driver and passengers will not feel strong shaking. With all this, the car holds the road perfectly even at high speeds.
It should be noted that, despite the soft suspension and low-profile tires on 19-inch wheels, there is no horizontal swing of the body.
In cars with adaptive suspension, the driving experience is significantly different. Pressing it leads to an increase in the stiffness of the shock absorbers, and the throttle response becomes even more sensitive. Passengers feel the unevenness of the road surface more strongly. There is a slight shaking, but still the Jaguar XF is not up to the really sporty behavior even in this mode. The reason for this is also the steering, which clearly lacks sensitivity to feel the real possibilities of the engine and chassis. As the speed increases, the sensitivity of the steering wheel decreases proportionally. Sometimes a deviation of 5-6 degrees from the zero point is possible. Of course, this increases comfort and safety, which cannot be said about sportiness.
Note the gearbox. The European version of the XF is equipped with an 8-speed "automatic", which shifts gears in 200 ms. In the domestic market, all versions are currently still equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Oshifting gears can be completely forgotten, as the box does its job perfectly.
Appetite
Real fuel consumption is significantly different from the declared. The reason for this is the poor quality of the fuel. In practice, in a combined cycle, a car consumes about 8 liters, and in urban conditions - 11-12 liters per hundred square meters. Even when driving in sport mode around the city, the consumption does not exceed 15 liters, which is good news.
