Once KIA went on a frank adventure - to create a representative car under the national brand. Surprisingly, she not only created it, but also managed to lure some of the potential buyers of Lexus and Mercedes to her side. Executive sedan called KIA Quoris has a length of more than five meters and costs about two and a half million rubles. It is important to note that analogues of such a car are at least a million more expensive. Perhaps there is some catch in all of this?
A bit of history
Koreans are quite an ambitious nation. Therefore, they prefer to use things of their own production, including cars. And if the average Korean can choose a budget car among a wide variety of domestic models, then a rich resident of Korea has to support the imported car industry. Therefore, the demand for representative cars in Korea appeared a long time ago. Attempts to resolve this issue have already been made not only by KIA, but also by its associates Hyundai and SsangYong. Only now the Koreans did not succeed in creating a car that meets international standards. Tofor example, the KIA Enterprise model was a whopping 5.2 meters long, but was built on the Mazda 929 platform, which speaks for itself.
General information
Certainly, KIA Quoris is the most serious attempt by Koreans to get into the premium segment at the global level. The car is built on the platform of Hyundai Equus, which has already become familiar in our area. It is equipped with rear-wheel drive, a 3.8-liter engine that develops 290 horsepower, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Sales of the model started quite quickly in different parts of the Earth, and the main sensation was the availability of KIA Quoris. The price of the car ranges from 2.539 million rubles to 3.499 million rubles. Naturally, it all depends on the configuration.
Design
Many car enthusiasts will immediately notice that the Quoris design is borrowed from the seventh BMW. This can be seen both in the exterior and in the interior. One gear lever is worth something. However, in general, the premium Korean looks much more dynamic and brighter than its German prototype. It feels like the designers of KIA Quoris decided not to burden themselves with tradition.
Interior
The interior looks rather modest, especially considering the pompous tastes of Asian automakers. The interior is made in a classic style, calm lines and colors contribute to the relaxation of the owner. The interior is trimmed with high-quality leather and aluminum. And the ceiling, like the best world brands, is covered with suede. Although the KIA Quoris does not live up to the Mercedes S-class in terms of trim level, it clearly surpasses the basic version of the eighth BMW.
The interior of the car is quite spacious, especially the back row, but the roof could be made higher. Of course, no one will beat their heads, but according to the status of the car, there should be a little more space. The driver's seat is made at the highest level, only there is not enough lateral support on bends. Obviously, the car is designed for a quiet imposing ride.
Interior equipment
The interior of the car is equipped in full accordance with its class. LED headlights, ventilated seats, digital instruments with a projection on the windshield, door closers, cruise control and much more await the owners of this car. There is even an analogue of the Pre-Safe system from Mercedes, which in emergency situations tightens seat belts and pushes seats back. Of course, there is no need to talk about a standard set of electronic assistants and all kinds of amenities, because their presence in a car of this level is not even discussed. The only question that led the representatives of the Korean company to a dead end: "What innovations are introduced into this car?". The car contains all the best that is today, and there is absolutely nothing new here. But there is a 7-year warranty, which even the most venerable competitors cannot boast of.
KIA Quoris: test drive
The design of the car does not cause any complaints, so many people think that the "cheapness" of the car will affect its driving performance. Skeptics were out of luck again - the car behaves quite worthy on the road. Of course, he is not superior to his European classmates, but that would be too much.
The steering wheel of the car is quite informative, all turns are worked out in a split second. There are, of course, rolls, but they do not cause much irritation. 3.8-liter engine is enough to disperse such a heavy car. The brakes are fine too. The ride of the car is smooth, the chassis is energy-intensive. Everything works smoothly.
If you find fault with trifles, you can find three flaws in the designers. Firstly, while working on soundproofing, not enough attention was paid to the engine compartment and wheel arches. As a result, with a sharp start, the engine growls strongly, and the wheels rustle. Secondly, the automatic transmission is a little lazy to switch down, paddle shifters would be very handy. And, thirdly, it would be nice if the engine and suspension modes were configured separately. For example, when driving on the highway, the chassis copes best with bumps and prevents the buildup of the car in the "Sport" mode, and the engine on such a road would be logical to switch to the "Eco" mode. Of course, all this is trifles. However, for a man who gave two and a half million for a car, and they play a role.
Where KIA Quoris is really inferior to its eminent class rivals is in the possibilities of individualization. "Germans" can be fully equipped to suit your preferences. This applies to both finishes and options. But buyers of premium KIA can only choose one of the proposed configurations. There are five in total. The first three have a motor volume of 3.8 liters, and the rest - 5.0 liters, and this is the main difference between them. With regard to equipment and variouselectronic assistants, then only the cheapest equipment is poor. It also does not include alloy wheels and a panoramic cover. But "warm options" are available for all models.
KIA Quoris reviews
The main part of the owners of this car speak very well of it. Everyone notes good quality for a nice price. The owners of this car say that when you get behind the wheel, you immediately remember the Germans. Many, choosing between the E-class Mercedes and KIA Quoris, the price of which is much lower, give their preference to the Korean. Isn't that a success?
Conclusion
Koreans managed to create a good premium car, which is quite well established in the market. KIA Quoris, whose technical characteristics speak for themselves, clearly made competitors worry. The creators took most of the ideas from the famous Germans, but now you will not surprise anyone with this. Definitely KIA Quoris deserves attention, at least while such a price tag hangs on it.
