The history of the creation of the KrAZ-250 began back in 1980. The designers of the Kremenchug Automobile Plant modified the 2575B1A model and received a universal chassis, on which it became possible to install various equipment, for example, concrete mixers, truck cranes. The technical characteristics of the KrAZ-250 allow it to be used in almost any climatic conditions, which made the model incredibly popular in the domestic market. Cars quickly found their way into the gas and oil refining industries, military and construction sectors.

This model is designed for operation on public roads, which have no restrictions for vehicles whose tandem axle load is 18 tons. Units and assemblies of the truck operate normally at temperatures from +40 C° to -40 C°. KrAZ-250 has the ability to tow a trailer, the total weight of which does not exceed 20 tons. Despite the enormous loads, speed characteristics, throughput and comfort remain at a high level. Cab

A triple cabin is installed on the chassis, the exterior and design features of which have features characteristic of KrAZ. The salon boasts an efficient heating and ventilation system. A good overview is provided by windshield wipers and washers, a warm air blowing system, as well as two large rear-view mirrors. Engine

The truck is equipped with a V-shaped diesel power unit YaMZ-238M2 with 8 cylinders. Maximum power - 240 liters. with., which is achieved at 2100 rpm. With the help of a two-disk dry clutch, the motor aggregates with a five-speed manual gearbox. Efficient cooling of the engine is carried out by a tubular-ribbon radiator.

Excellent speed characteristics were achieved by installing a transfer case with two stages and a center differential.

Brake system

Unlike most of its predecessors, the KrAZ-250 received a more efficient braking system. Each wheel has a brakedrum type, to which a double-circuit pneumatic drive is connected. The first circuit acts on the braking system of the intermediate and front axles, while the second provides braking for the rear axle.

Since this type of special equipment is used in conditions of extremely low temperatures, the designers of the plant provided for a condensate freezing fuse, as well as a dehumidifier.

The model has a parking brake and a spare brake, which make it as reliable as possible.
