One way or another, Shell oil("Helix", "Ultra", "Rimula" and so on) is trusted by a large number of domestic motorists. Whether this is due to extensive advertising, manufacturers' recommendations, or the actual excellent condition of the engine remains to be seen.

Fake and original

Like many famous brands, Shell has a serious problem. This oil is massively counterfeited in Russia, pouring it into canisters with the label of expensive products.

In order to be sure that under the guise of an expensive lubricant you were not sold a cheap analogue, you need to know how to distinguish the original from the fake.

The fake Shell can itself can tell a lot. Oil is unlikely to be visually determined, but a pungent smell may indicate a fake, since the original has almost no oil.

Buy or not

The responsible decision on the choice of lubricant lies with the car owner. Sometimes this issue is decided for him by official dealers, in which the car owner undergoes warranty service. Often in such centers it is Shell oil that is used. Feedback from drivers about it, however, is contradictory, unlike those manufacturers who diligently advertise it. Maybe someone just got a fake, one of the many available on the market. At the same time, some independent laboratories, while conducting research, come to unexpected conclusions, finding good qualities in not very well-known brands, while they find the most ordinary characteristics in advertised products.

Such conclusions should be studied before leaning towards the choice of oilone manufacturer or another.
