With the beginning of autumn in the agricultural regions, the harvest season begins. Heavy machinery leaves for the fields in order to facilitate the hard work of farmers. But few people know that the Niva combine, which is quite firmly entrenched in our everyday life, has been known for a long time. The first models appeared in the USA back in 1828. More precisely, not the machines themselves, but the patent for them. Unfortunately, the apparatus that cut the spikelets, threshed and cleaned the grain from the tares was not built. The first such equipment was built in the Russian Empire in 1830. It consisted of a threshing apparatus, a fan and a sieve. Three years later, a harvesting machine was built. She worked in the fields as long as human labor was still used in Europe. The original prototype of the harvester was invented in Australia in the same period. Today, there are special machines for grain crops, forage and grass, sugar beets, potatoes, and even for picking berries.
The Niva combine has been the pride of the domestic engineering industry for many years. The legendary model SK-5 Niva has been an invariable attribute of golden fields with ripe wheat for several decades. This is one of the first models of self-propelled vehicles that did not need the draft power of a tractor, horses or other animals. Later, an improved Niva Effect combine appeared on its basis.
The grain harvester has a very complex structure. It sequentially performs a number of operations: cutting spikelets, transporting them to the threshing machine, threshing grain, separating grains and husks, feeding the cleaned bread into the bunker and unloading it from it. In fact, the Niva harvester combined the functions of three types of simpler equipment at once - harvesters, threshers and winnowers.
The Niva combine harvester was a revolution in its time. His innovation not only made it possible to increase the productivity of agriculture and labor, it witnessed significant technological progress. And let them say today that the machines gave a large percentage of grain loss, but then they were the best solution for collective farms. In addition, few people know that the mass production of such machines had another, hidden purpose. The release of combines included the production of special components that could transform a peaceful unit into an armored vehicle for military operations. Factory workers were trained under secret conditions so they knew what to do if the army needed their help.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, foreign samples arrived in the expanses of fifteen republics, and now independent states. The famous Niva harvester began to lose ground, because it lagged far behind its competitors. It had significantly higher: fuel consumption, grain loss, service life and maintainability. BUTeven in foreign cars it was more comfortable to work: a much lower degree of noise and vibration, a more comfortable seat and the presence of additional functions. But still, in many large and small villages in the fields you can still see the red giant, which embodies the greatness of the past era.

"Victory" GAZ-M72 - the pride of the Soviet car industry
Listen to how proudly “Victory” sounds. Nikita Khrushchev played a role in the history of the creation of this legendary Soviet car GAZ-M72. In 1954, he proposed to modernize the GAZ-69. That is, the car should have become more comfortable. As a result, the secretaries of the rural regional committees of the CPSU, as well as the chairmen of the advanced collective farms, were able to get service SUVs. But the military also had an interest in this car

Mercedes G55 AMG is a fine example of German engineering at work
Mercedes-Benz Gelendvagen is a true old-timer of the market. It has been produced for more than 25 years, and therefore it is extremely difficult to write something new about it. However, the release of the new version of the G55 AMG again surprised the genius of German engineering, which created such a successful design with such reserves
