History

In the late 2000s, the Taganrog Automobile Plant signed a contract with the Chinese concern Jianghuai Automobile for the supply and sale of the JAC Rein off-road vehicle to Russia. The car, in its characteristics, resembled the Land Cruiser Prado 150 and 120. After some time, the leadership of the domestic automobile manufacturer decided to launch the production of JAC Rein with a slightly different design and under its own name -TagAZ S190. I must say that JAC Rein itself is practically a copy of the first generation Hyundai Santa Fe. By the way, the launch of the Russian-Chinese SUV began at the same time with the Santa Fe. The assembly of the Korean crossover was carried out right there, on a parallel conveyor.

Starting sales

Avtomolil TagAZ S190 appeared on the market in the form of two limited batches already in May 2011.
