Several years ago, the French company Citroen decided to release the first crossover in its history, which later became known as the C-Crosser. Initially, it was designed on the platform of two no less famous SUVs: Peugeot 4007 and Mitsubishi Outlander XL. Despite the fact that the novelty has a common frame design, externally and internally it does not at all look like a copy of these two jeeps. So, let's see what the new crossovers "Citroen C-Crosser" turned out to be.

Design

The appearance of the car has been "tailored" to the overall format of the French brand.

Large body details can be traced in front, namely headlights of an unusual shape, fog lights with chrome lining, 2 large chevrons and a wide bumper with a massive air intake that gives the front of the crossover the shape of an aggressive mouth. ATThe profile of the new Citroen crossover still bears some resemblance to a Japanese SUV, but it is impossible to say that this is a copy. In general, it is worth noting that the French designers managed to disguise the Japanese features of the Mitsubishi Outlander XL SUV, and quite successfully.

Specifications

French "Citroen" crossover will be equipped with two types of engines: gasoline and diesel. As for the first option, it has a capacity of 170 horsepower and a working volume of 2.4 liters. It is equipped with two transmissions: it can be either a stepless variator with 6 virtual speeds or a five-speed manual gearbox.

The second engine has more modest specifications, namely the power of 160 horsepower and a displacement of 2.2 liters. The diesel Citroen crossover is paired with the same transmissions as the gasoline engine.

Economy and performance

It is worth noting that the new SUV model has a quite acceptable fuel consumption rate compared to other cars in its class. When driving on the highway, the novelty spends about 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers. In the city, this figure increases to 12.6 liters. In mixed mode, the car spends about 9 liters per "hundred". Up to 100 kilometers per hour, the Citroen crossover accelerates in 10.5 seconds. The maximum speed is about 200 kilometers per hour.

Flaws

Sorry new"Citroen" crossover has one drawback, which lies in the frequency of maintenance. If the owner of the Japanese "Mitsubishi Outlander XL" can perform maintenance at intervals of 15 thousand kilometers, then the owner of the "Frenchman" will do this every 10 thousand kilometers. However, this does not affect the reliability and durability of the engine.

Cost

The minimum price for a new Citroen crossover produced in 2013 is about 960 thousand rubles. The most expensive equipment "Exclusive" with a diesel engine costs 1 million 142 thousand rubles. Given this pricing policy, we can say with confidence that the S-Crosser is an excellent alternative to the Japanese Mitsubishi Outlander XL co-platform.
