Agricultural work literally obliges all modern farmers to have powerful specialized equipment that is able to perform the functions assigned to it at any time of the year and in almost any weather conditions. One of these highly efficient machines called the MTZ-100 tractor will be discussed in this article. We will consider all its features and operational capabilities.

Place of production

MTZ-100 is a Belarusian brainchild in demand in the consumer environment and is produced at a tractor plant located in Minsk. The unit has been produced since 1984 and is essentially a modernized analogue of the MTZ-80 tractor. The modern "weave" is a combination of a powerful engine, a high-quality and reliable hydraulic system and optimal technical characteristics.

MTZ-100 is one of the universal row-cultivating machines, the traction class of which is 1, 4. Engine Description

MTZ-100 has a four-stroke four-cylinder D-245 diesel engine equipped with a turbocharger. The cylinders are arranged in a row. Engine capacity is 4.75 liters.

Due to the presence of a turbocharged compressor with adjustable pressure parameters, it is possible to obtain a large torque in combination with a very low crankshaft speed.

The engine is powered by an electric starter. In frosty weather, starting the engine is simplified by turning on the pre-heater. Glow plugs and low viscosity oil provide additional starting comfort.

Driver's cab

Characteristics of the MTZ-100 will be incomplete if you do not consider the driver's workplace in as much detail as possible. The tractor cab is designed for one person. Its frame is characterized by increased rigidity, which guarantees optimal protection for the operator in the event of an emergency rollover of the machine. There is also an ejection air temperature control system in the cab, and additional comfort ensures the proper level of tightness.

The driver's seat is quite soft and can be adjusted, if desired, both in a vertical plane and in a horizontal one. The corresponding mechanisms are located directly in front of the seat. Two steps, a safety handrail and a folding steering wheel are provided for easy entry into the cab.

The engine hood is located on the outside of the radiator grille. A special latch securely fixes it from unplanned opening. There are wings on the sides of the tractor, the task of which is to protect it from splashing. The coupling qualities of the machine are enhanced by the presence of auxiliary weights located on the front bar and a pair of rear wheels.

A few words about transmission

In the described tractor, the transmission includes not only a mechanical gearbox, but also a hydraulic shift mechanism, a rear axle, a clutch and a reduction gear. In total, there are 24 gears, of which 16 are for forward and 8 for reverse.

Parameters

MTZ-100,the technical characteristics of which are given below, it is quite easy to operate and unpretentious in maintenance. The main technical data of the tractor are:

• Length - 4120 mm.
• Width - 1970 mm.
• The track of the rear wheels can be adjusted within 1400 - 2100 mm, for the front wheels this figure is 1250 - 1850 mm.
• The maximum travel speed is 35 km/h.

There is a modernized model MTZ-100 - 102. The novelty has one significant difference from its predecessor, which is that the leading axle is the front. This machine is designed to work in much tougher conditions than its predecessor.

Cost

It should be noted that there are not so many used "hundred parts" on the market. This tractor, whose release dates back to the early 2000s, will cost about half a million rubles. If you set out to purchase a more modern model (for example, 2010), then you will have to count on an amount of at least 650,000 Russian rubles.
