But at the same time, it is worth noting that the product with a viscosity of 5W40 is a little "outdated", since the line has a more popular and perfect original Toyota oil 5W30. 0W30

"Zero" viscosity oil of this brand is also suitable for gasoline or diesel engines. However, this oil is more suitable for cars that are operated in the northern regions of Russia - it is there that the winter is very severe with the lowest possible air temperature, and the oil will be able to show maximum efficiency.

Grease is API and ACEA approved. In the Russian market, it is not very popular, but it is gradually gaining it. Judging by the reviews, car owners are satisfied with the quality of the lubricant, but they are scared off by its very high price (about 800 rubles per liter).

5w30 SN

This lubricant is the most popular and in demand on the Russian market. It is a synthetic product that meets the highest API quality standard. The characteristics allow it to be used in diesel and gasoline engines with or without a turbine.

A distinctive feature of this grease is its high antioxidant properties, which are achieved by adding special additives. It is recommended to use this oil invehicles with hybrid engines. In particular, it is ideal for Toyota Prius. In addition, on many cars from Toyota and Lexus, this oil is used as the first fill. And the fact that the manufacturer uses it in factories speaks volumes.

However, judging by the reviews, the disadvantage of this lubricant is the same - the price. If the previous oil cost 800 rubles per liter, which is already expensive, then this lubricant will cost 1,700 rubles per liter. This means that you will have to pay about 6,000 rubles for the canister. Not surprisingly, many car owners complain about the price, because oils from other manufacturers are cheaper (about 1,500-2,000 rubles for a 5-liter canister).

According to the test results obtained by well-known automotive publications, the original Toyota oil with the 5W30 SN index has the following properties:

1. Average viscosity index - 151.
2. Cure at -31°C.
3. BN - 6 mg KOH/g.
4. Sulphated ash content – 0.82.
5. Density at average temperature - 858 kg/m³.
6. Acid number - 1.58.

As analogues of the described product, oils from other manufacturers with the same characteristics can be presented: Mazda Dexelia 5w40, Castrol 0w20, Castrol Magnetic 5w30, Nissan Strong SM 5w40.

Additives

As for additives, here Toyota products, according to experts, show low results in terms ofcompared to oils from other brands. In particular, the composition contains a low sulfate ash content and a small proportion of antioxidant substances. They also emit a high level of contamination, which indicates poor cleaning properties of the oil. This means that the product can only be used with new and modern engines. It is not worth pouring it into an engine with a solid mileage and, possibly, deposits on the cylinder walls. Even older Toyota vehicles require other oils with effective cleaning additives.

Despite all these shortcomings, the oil belongs to the level of "above average", however, it does not reach the high level. But the cost of the product is higher compared to other oils of well-known brands, which, with better quality, can have a lower price.

For cars of the Japanese car industry: Prius, Camry, Avensis, Corolla, the original Toyota oil is ideal. However, it is not recommended to use it on other vehicles. First, it has a higher price tag than good and possibly more suitable lubricants from other manufacturers. Secondly, it was developed taking into account the features of the engines of the Japanese manufacturer Toyota. Therefore, on vehicles of other brands, its effectiveness may be poor.
