A couple of years ago, the German automaker Volkswagen presented to the public its new minibus model called the Volkswagen Crafter. This car was not a restyling of the LT model, but was developed by German engineers from scratch. As a result of long and painstaking work, we got a reliable, versatile, and most importantly, a large minibus capable of transporting any cargo at any distance.
Thanks to these and many other characteristics, the Volkswagen Crafter is a real bestseller in the European and domestic markets, where it is officially supplied. According to experts, this commercial vehicle has no worthy competitors (with the exception of the Mercedes Sprinter), and therefore is in great demand among many carrier companies. So, let's look at what qualities the new German car has.
Design
The appearance of the car compared to othersminibuses of this brand is much more attractive and modern. The elongated headlights immediately catch the eye, which smoothly turn into a large windshield. Stylish bumper and balanced wheel arches look quite confident compared to other commercial vehicles.
Engine Specifications
For the new Volkswagen Crafter minibus, the manufacturer has specially developed three variants of diesel engines, which will also be provided to the domestic consumer in full force. The first unit has a capacity of 109 horsepower, the second - 136, and the third as much as 163 horsepower. By the way, according to the manufacturer, all 3 units are designed for durable operation in any driving conditions, and they will need the next repair (and not a major one!) Not earlier than after 200 thousand kilometers. As for the level of efficiency, the Volkswagen Crafter, thanks to the Common Rail fuel injection system, consumes about 7-8 liters per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle.
Body, cab and payload specifications
The main feature of the new minibus model is its large capacity, which is as much as 17 cubic meters. It is also worth highlighting the Volkswagen Crafter van separately, which, unlike the body of a minibus, can accommodate up to 27 cubic meters of cargo, depending on the length of the chassis. At the same time, the car is able to lift andtransport various goods with a total weight of up to 2800 kilograms. However, for such a powerful truck as the Volkswagen Crafter, even 3 tons is not a hindrance. In the cab, the manufacturer has provided a lot of comfort systems for the driver, allowing not only fast, but also convenient transportation of goods. So the comfort level of the minibus is on top. The same applies to vans, which are equipped with all the necessary things, including the Webasto heating system (it is installed at the request of the client) for lovers of long trips.

The minimum cost for a new truck is one and a half million rubles, while on the secondary market you can buy a 2-year-old minibus in excellent condition already for 900 thousand.
