In continuation of the Samara-2 series, in 2001 the domestic auto industry introduced a five-door hatchback VAZ-2114. Distinctive features of the model were the front part of the body (headlights, grille, hood, bumper) and interior decoration.

Dashboard

Europanel installed in the car. Consists of two liquid crystal displays. Built-in outboard thermometer. Emergency signs are hidden in the central part, which, during normal operation of the car, look like an ordinary dark stripe. Thanks to the new design of the panel, the interior ventilation has improved (the problem of air supply to the deflectors on the sides has been eliminated).

There is a temperature sensor in the left corner of the panel to prevent engine overheating. Made in the form of a scale on which the danger zone is marked in red.

Closer to the center - the engine speed scale (tachometer) in the range of 0-80. It has yellow (increased crankshaft speed) and red (danger in engine operation) zones.

In the central upper part there are signaling devices in the form of arrows that flash green when the turn signals are turned on in the appropriate direction.

To the right of the signaling devices, a scale is installed that displays the speed of the car. Designed for up to 200 km/h.

The top right side shows the amount of fuel in the tank. A little lower - signaling devices for switching on dimensions and high beam headlights, as well as a signal about a breakdown in the brake system.

Interior lighting

Standard lighting of the VAZ-2114 interior includes a ceiling lamp on the roof of the car, an LED lamp consisting of six diodes, and dashboard lighting. Additionally, the glove box, heater levers and the indicator of the lamp hydrocorrector are illuminated.

Salon VAZ-2114 is often subject to changes by car owners. Despite the good quality of materials, owners often compare VAZ with foreign cars. Naturally, the domestic auto industry is inferior.

First of all, they change the upholstery. Not only the color changes, but also the material itself. At the same time, the upholstery of the seats changes (covers are put on). In some cases, the seats are completely changed.

Change the upholstery on your own is not difficult. You can start with sun visors. Polyethylene is removed from the removed visors, which is laid out on the selected material from the inside. Outline the part. An indent of 1 centimeter is made along the edges, cut out. A cover is sewn, which, in fact, is put on the visor. Similarly, the lining of the inserts on the doors changes. • off automatically after half an hour if one of the doors is left open.

To install a lamp of this kind in the VAZ-2114 salon with your own hands, you must perform a series of actions:

• the diffuser is taken out of the standard lamp and the wires are disconnected;
• the old body of the ceiling light is removed (to do this, you need to unscrew only 4 self-tapping screws);
• the diffuser in the form of a plastic cover is removed from the LED lamp;
• car electrical wiring is connected to the plug of the LED lamp;
• the new cover is fixed in place, and a diffuser is put on its body.
