Their equipment is considered the best in the world, they are akin to BMW or Mercedes Benz, setting the bar for others and creating models that will hold the quality standard for years, if not decades. Lightness, soundproofing and impeccable quality are the hallmarks of Schuberth.

A well-known model, the Schuberth SR1 helmet, designed with the participation of Michael Schumacher, won the 2011 Helmet of the Year award. The helmet is comfortable and, which is generally typical for all products of this brand, has a low noise level. It is very convenient that in addition to the main visor there is also a second, anti-solar visor with tinting. If necessary, it can be removed inside. Another model, also an open helmet Schuberth M1, also has an additional arc of rigidity. The external protective visor organically fits into the design, but the helmet can be used in both versions. Comfort and safety

Great, almost full view - that's what an open helmet will provide. A 3/4 motorcycle helmet may be suitable for those who prefer to ride in the city, but in bad weather, such as during heavy rain, it may not be the most practical solution.

One of the things that can be included in the shortcomings of almost all Schubert brand helmets isstandardized internal profile. The firm's designers didn't seem to take into account that people sometimes have very different head shapes, and therefore those who do not fit the "standards" may experience some discomfort when wearing a helmet.

Motorcyclists have been complaining about narrowing in the jaw area, but this seems to be fixed in the Schuberth J1 helmet. He sits better than the rest, perhaps due to the lack of a hard chin. Due to the wider profile, a large number of people will find the Schuberth J1 helmet comfortable. The price for all models of this brand starts from 25-30 thousand rubles, J1 is no exception here, despite the fact that the helmet is open.

The Schuberth Open Helmet has one truly innovative solution. This is a chin bar designed to give more rigidity to the structure. The material used for production is a special plastic. The arc is placed in special grooves on both sides. The signal that everything is in place is a characteristic click. To remove the arc, just press the red sliders located on both sides of the helmet. They can be unfastened one at a time, and it does not matter if the helmet is in the dressed position.

Schuberth experts report that in the event of an impact, the arc will dissipate the force energy directed at the chin over the entire surface of the helmet. To the question that it can catch on and lead to a neck injury, the designers answer that they have provided for such a possibility: the arc will automatically unhook if the pulling force exceeds the allowable one. ATIn this case, a dangerous load on the neck is excluded, however, in view of this, you should not put any objects into the Schubert helmet and carry it by holding on to the arc: a self-release mechanism may work, which will lead to a fall.

New mount

The latest models of this brand use a new type of fastener, which in the original is called quick-release. Opinions differ on the appropriateness. Some say the old bindings are better (referring to the two D-rings), others say that Schubert's so-called simple-complex is more reliable, although less convenient. If there is no additional lining on the helmet, this clasp will rub the neck. However, innovation does not enter our lives immediately, and perhaps in the future, Schubert designers will finalize their system and motorcyclists will already call it the simplest and most reliable. In any case, I am glad that the thoughts of engineers do not stand still.

Microclimate

Good ventilation and low noise are perhaps the exact opposite of each other when it comes to helmets. If one is at a height, then the second leaves much to be desired, and vice versa. Not everyone succeeds in balancing this delicate system, but we can say that the specialists from Schubert succeeded better than others. Here we can note the helmet "Schubert" SR1, here, probably, the fact that the equipment from the "Formula 1" is at the origins played its role. No, this helmet does not provide the best sound insulation, it is even inferior to other models of its brand, but that's different. He possessesamazing degree of ventilation, and considering this, the noise isolation still remained at its best.

Designers have foreseen various situations and provided the helmet with two ventilation channels that open at will with the help of separate sliders. There is also an air intake hole on the chin, it is made of two parts: a large lower channel, and above it a second, separate channel, which serves to blow the inside of the visor. This prevents condensation from forming inside the helmet.

All vents are adjustable and can be fully opened, partially closed or completely closed, but there is one drawback: the air intake mesh can let in some small insects, which can be quite unpleasant when driving at high speeds.

The Schuberth S2 helmet, which the company itself positions as a tourist helmet, also performed well.

What is important?

Much has already been said about the Schubert brand, but what absolutely everyone loves him for is weight, or rather its absence. All the shortcomings recede into the background when the rider picks up this almost weightless helmet. For example, the weight of SR1 for size XS is only 1290 g, and for XXL it is 1400 g (50 g fluctuation is possible). Needless to say, the Schuberth open helmet weighs no more than one kilogram! And of course, an impeccable design that will not leave indifferent even a very picky person. All helmets are available in multiple color options, glossy or matte.
