Many motorists were waiting for the debut of the fifth generation of the legendary Chery-Tigo SUVs, and finally, in October of this year, the company announced the imminent start of sales of new items in Russia. Thus, in a couple of months, a new generation (not a restyled series) of Chinese Cheri-Tigo cars will be available on the domestic market. Many owners of previous generations of Tigo have repeatedly recalled the difficult situation with the choice of spare parts - it was almost impossible to find them in Russia. But now, according to the company, along with new crossovers, their components and units will be actively supplied to Russia.
Cheri-Tigo specifications and dimensions
Speaking of dimensions. In the new look, the SUV will have the following body dimensions: a length of 450.6 centimeters, a width of 184 centimeters and a height of 174 centimeters. The wheelbase is now 261 centimeters, a few millimeters longer than its predecessors.
According to the developers of Cheri-Tigo, the new engine will have several variations. Among them, the youngest develops 132 horsepower with a volume of 2 liters. Also next year, two new units will be added. So, the technical characteristics of Cheri-Tigo will be more dynamic thanks to turbodiesel engines with a volume of 1.4 and 1.6 liters. But, unfortunately, they will be available only in more expensive trim levels. The base will be a two-liter engine running on gasoline. But this is not all technical characteristics. Cheri-Tigo will be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The manufacturer has not yet announced anything about the machine.said, but it is quite possible that the automatic transmission will also be available to customers.
Cost
So, we have considered the technical characteristics of Cheri-Tigo, now let's move on to the price. According to the company, the novelty will cost about 16,500 US dollars. This price is for a base crossover in the domestic market.
Looking at such a low cost (almost 2 times less than that of competitors), we can assume that in the near future the "Chinese" will force out all its competitors from the world market. But how it will be in reality, we will find out only next year after the official start of sales. And it will happen in at least six months…
