Nissan boasts perhaps the most developed and interesting line of SUVs among Japanese automakers. Its most famous representative is the Nissan X-Trail.
The first generation of the car debuted in 2001. The Nissan Xtrail was designed to fill the niche of universal crossovers. At first glance, the company should have carried out its plan without much difficulty. On the other hand, it was necessary to create a car that could compete with the owners of the SUV segment. Ten years ago, brands such as Mitsubishi, Subaru, Honda and Suzuki were assigned leadership positions.
Despite the complexity of the task, Nissan engineers and designers managed to build a great car. After entering the market, Nissan Xtrail immediately gained popularity in the USA, Europe and Japan. Sometimes the SUV even managed to take the first lines in the sales ratings.
The first generation was built on the famous Nissan FF-S platform. It is noteworthy that earlier the Primera and Almera models received the same platform. And the design of the X-Trail was borrowed from the "big brother" Patrol.
In 2007The new Nissan Xtrail of the second generation was presented. The main differences from its predecessor were a new design, a new platform (Nissan C) and a choice between front and all-wheel drive.
In 2010, a company from Japan carried out a restyling of an SUV. The changes affected the front grille and bumper. This version of the X-Trail is still on sale today. True, the third generation is already on the way, but more on that later.
The appearance of the Nissan X-Trail fits into the definition of "unisex" rather. On the other hand, the crossover has masculine features: the absence of rounded corners, large wheel arches and headlights. In any case, a girl who loves a sporty and active lifestyle will not remain indifferent to this Japanese.
How will the Nissan Ixtrail behave off-road? The characteristics of the car speak of great potential. Under the hood of the SUV is a Nissan Ixtrail transverse engine, which produces 169 hp. with a volume of 2.5 liters. Paired with the engine is a CVT type variator with 6 virtual steps. In order to accelerate to 100 km / h, the car will need just over 10 seconds.
For cross-country driving, Nissan engineers have equipped their car with a large number of electronic systems. For example, already at a slope of 10 degrees, the anti-recoil system is activated. In addition, the hill descent assist works great.
When slipping or a sharp start, it connectsfour-wheel drive. If the driver prefers permanent four-wheel drive, then just press the desired button.
The cost of the version with a 2.5-liter engine and CVT is 42 thousand dollars. For people with a more modest budget, a version with a 2-liter engine has been developed. Such a car in the basic configuration costs a little over 30 thousand dollars.
It is worth noting that next summer, sales of the new generation X-Trail will begin. The official presentation of the crossover has already taken place at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013. They promised to announce the characteristics of the novelty a little later.
In the meantime, the 2010 Nissan X-Trail continues to shine in showrooms and is waiting for a buyer.
