This element is called a compression gauge. How to use it? The device is screwed in instead of one of the spark plugs. The test starts in order - from the first to the fourth cylinder. As we said earlier, the normal indicator should not be lower than 10. After checking the compression level in one cylinder, we move on to the second. We twist the candle back into the previous one and put on the high-voltage wire coming from the ignition coil. There should not be a strong run-up in the values. By the way, if this is an old engine, scuffs in the combustion chamber are not excluded. Because of this, the compression and oil scraper rings do not fit snugly. This problem can be solved by honing the cylinder walls.
At the same time, the rings change. But you need to do this with professional craftsmen. This service costs about five thousand rubles. As a result, the compression level on a gasoline car can be increased to 12-13 kg/cm2. And this is without engine overhaul.

Torque
After installing the part, tighten the bolts with a torque wrench. Tightening is done from the center. First comes the lower and then the upper central bolt. The tightening is done in four steps. First, the bolts are tightened with a force of 2 kilograms per centimeter (for VAZ-2108-21099 cars). Then they are tightened in the second circle with a force of 8 kgfm (also from the center). After that, each bolt is screwed 90 degrees. Then they are tightened again, also by 90 degrees.
Replacement results
After installing a new gasket, it is necessary to fill in all the drainedfluid and check the engine for proper operation. The car should run smoothly and steadily, without white smoke from the exhaust. Acceleration dynamics resumes, fuel consumption decreases. After a while, check the dipstick and antifreeze in the expansion tank. There should be no bubbles or deposits. If done correctly, the part lasts several hundred thousand kilometers.
