Third Generation Mondeo

Mondeo engines: features and weaknesses

Low-octane gasoline in most cases leads to detonation, despite the presence of an octane corrector in the engine, which leads todestruction of the partitions between the piston rings.

But the turbodiesels on the Ford Mondeo (the review of the owner of this modification speaks of this) are practically hassle-free. At risk is an expensive particulate filter, which is clogged with combustion products in traffic jams, glow plugs and nozzles. In a mechanical 5-speed gearbox, oil seals leak, and over time, the linkage of the lever becomes loose. The machine is reliable and has a phenomenal survivability. What can not be said about the box Power Shift dual clutch. In Mondeo's fully independent suspension, only wheel bearings can be called weak.
