With a key for 7 or a similar head, the guide wheels are unscrewed. You need to unscrew carefully. If it is not unscrewed with a key, then it is better to work with the head - the thread can be easily damaged. Then the drum is dismantled. If it is not removed, then knock on it with a hammer from the back side through the bars. Strikes must be applied evenly. When replacing the rear pads on the Priore with ABS, you must also remove the disc.

Then squeeze the rear brake pistons. This can be done with two screwdrivers. The piston should be sunk inside the cylinder on each side. To carry out a similar procedure, you can press on the pads with screwdrivers. The latter are conveniently supported on the collar of the brake flap.

Then, use a screwdriver to disengage the hook of the upper return spring. The latter will be connected to the block. And then you can remove the spring. The upper stops of the pads lead outfrom the slots of the pistons and remove the spacer bar. Similar operations are carried out with the lower coupling spring.

Use the same screwdriver to disengage the pressure spring. It is also connected to the block. Now you can remove the front pad. If you release the spring from the rear shoe, you can also remove it. The handbrake lever can be removed from the cable end hole. Then you can move on to installing new parts. Be sure to change the pads only as a set on the left and right wheels. There are four pads to change in total.

Features of the choice of pads

It must be remembered that only products specifically for ABS are suitable for replacing the rear brake pads on the Priore with ABS. Regular ones won't work. The price of spare parts is from 400 rubles.

Setting the parking brake

After replacing the pads, you may need to adjust the handbrake. Adjust it with an adjusting nut. The full travel of the parking brake should be approximately 2-4 clicks. A properly adjusted handbrake in the lowered state should not block the wheels. They should spin easily.
