The excavator is actively used at all construction sites: during the construction of a subgrade, for clearing the territory. Excavator EK-14 is a prominent representative of the domestic engineering industry. The technical characteristics of the machine are not inferior to those of many foreign models, and the availability and reasonable price make it one of the best on the Russian market.

Characteristics of the machine EK-14

Model EK-14-60

Depending on the modification, the model is equipped with one of two power plants: domestic D-243, or foreign - Perkins 1104C-44. A foreign-made engine is installed exclusively on the EK-14-60 excavator. The specifications of the foreign-made motor are as follows:

• volume - 4.4 liters;
• maximum torque value - 392 Nm;
• rotation speed at optimal operation - 2, 2 thousand rpm;
• power - 123 horsepower.

Foreign turbocharged powerplant with direct fuel injection mechanism slightly outperformsparameters of a standard excavator EK-14. The technical characteristics of the D-243 engine are as follows:

• cylinder capacity - 4.75 liters;
• speed in nominal operating mode - 2.4 thousand rpm;
• power - 85 kW.

Motor D-243 is also installed on modification EK-14-20. Choosing between the EK-14 model and its modification EK-14-60 follows, focusing on the goals and deadlines for completing the task. There is no significant difference in the cost of the presented vehicles.

Other modifications

The most accessible modification of the presented machine is the EK-14-20 excavator. Its technical characteristics are no different from those of the standard model. The power plant is the same. The differences are only in the configuration. Model 14-20 is made with standard 0.8 m bucket type equipment3.

The EK-14-30 instance is the second most accessible vehicle in this category. It is distinguished by the presence of a travel motor and a Bosch-Rexroth brand hydraulic pump. Similar equipment is completed and instance 14-60. The presence of additional units determines greater functionality and performance.

Advantages of technology

Special equipment EK-14 and its modified models are unpretentious. The EK-14 excavator is equipped with Bosch hydraulic cylinders. Specifications are greatly improved as a result, which is another benefit.

One of the features of the excavator is its versatility. Thanks to various types of interchangeable equipment, it can perform a wide range of operations. The most sought after in the market are:

• hydraulic hammer - with its help destroy asph alt concrete pavements, brick walls and partitions, loosen and compact the soil;
• grab bucket - necessary for the construction of deep wells, excavations in cramped conditions;
• ripper - installed before removing the pavement and cleaning curbs.

This characteristic of the EK-14 excavator proves its high functionality and performance, as well as adaptability to various construction works. This, combined with an affordable price, makes the model one of the most profitable in the domestic market. The closest analogue of the machine is the Eksmash E-170W excavator.
